Cut and ToneGrade use NVIDIA, AMD and Intel hardware encoders when present, and fall back to software without complaint.

Workflow
The studio
Framebright started in 2018 in a shared post-production space in Southeast Portland. Two of us cut documentaries; one wrote encoders for a living. The first app was an internal tool that made 4K footage scrub smoothly on laptops we could actually afford. Clients asked for it, and the studio became a software company.
We are nine people now. Every release is tested on a shelf of real machines, from a 2017 desktop with a GTX 1060 to current ARM laptops, and every codec claim on this page has a test file behind it.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. We do not sell or share personal information and we honour Global Privacy Control signals.
Our apps process your files on your device. Network activity is limited to update checks and, for paid plans, license validation (key, app version, Windows build number). Optional, per-incident crash reports contain a stack trace and the app version, never document contents.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 and will delete any such information on request (COPPA).
HTTPS everywhere, restricted file permissions, access limited to support staff, backups encrypted at rest. If a breach affects your unencrypted personal information we notify you as required by Oregon law and, where applicable, other state laws.
Changes are published here with a new effective date; material changes are announced on the site for 30 days.

Information on the site is provided in good faith and may be corrected. Prices are in US dollars, exclusive of sales tax, which is calculated at checkout. You agree not to misuse the site (scraping, attacks, false submissions).
Subject to these terms, Framebright Studio LLC grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the licensed edition of our software (Framebright Cut, CaptureBeam, BatchLight, WaveTrim, Loopa, ToneGrade) on the number of Windows devices stated for your plan (Personal: up to 3 devices you own; Pro: up to 5; Team: one device per seat). Free editions may be used without payment for personal and commercial purposes with the limitations shown in the app. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the software except where the law expressly allows it; remove notices; rent, lease or sublicense it; use it to build a competing product; or circumvent license checks. The software is licensed, not sold; we keep all rights not expressly granted. Updates within the same major version are included; major upgrades may carry an upgrade price, announced at least 30 days in advance. We may terminate the license if you materially breach these terms and do not cure within 15 days of notice; on termination you must uninstall the software. Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy.
Payment is processed by our payment provider under its own terms. Yearly plans auto-renew at the current list price unless cancelled before the renewal date; reminders go out 14 days ahead. Keys are e-mailed after payment. Sales tax is collected where we are required to collect it.

30-day conformity warranty; remedy is repair, replacement or refund. Beyond that, the site and software are provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law, and implied warranties are disclaimed where the law allows.

The banner shown on first visit gives equal weight to accepting and refusing.
